20 Republican-led states threaten legal action against DHS, urge disbanding of ‘un-American’ disinfo board

Exclusive: Republican-led states are threatening lawful motion in opposition to Office of Homeland Security’s (DHS) new “Disinformation Governance Board,” which they deem “un-American” and chilling to the cost-free speech of Us residents.

Virginia Legal professional Common Jason Miyares is major GOP lawyers common in sending a letter to Homeland Stability Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas Thursday demanding that the office “cease having action” contributing to a “chilling result” on no cost speech.

The Republicans elevate issue with the timing of the board’s creation, stating it will come just after the Biden administration has “flagged problematic posts” on social media and worked with Large Tech organizations and the personal sector to consider down “misinformation” off its platforms.

In addition, they say the timing is suspect thanks to Telsa CEO Elon Musk’s current acquisition of Twitter, and his determination to making certain cost-free speech and transparency on the system.

“Out of the blue, just as Elon Musk prepares to purchase Twitter with the mentioned purpose of correcting the platform’s censorship of absolutely free speech, you announce the creation of the Disinformation Governance Board. They also choose concern with the govt director of the board, Nina Jankowicz, who they say is “typically in mistake but by no means in doubt,” pointing to her prior suggestions that Hunter Biden’s notebook was a merchandise of a disinformation marketing campaign and that the COVID-19 lab-leak principle was invented to support previous President Trump politically.

Republican customers of the Home Homeland Stability Committee also wrote a letter to Mayorkas Thursday, demanding DHS deliver primary data to the committee which include the disinformation board’s corporation, users, agenda and recommendations.

“Your current testimony and media statements concerning the board, as perfectly as a recent briefing for Committee workers, have only designed far more questions and issue,” says the letter, led by Position Member Rep. Jon Katko, R-N.Y., and solely obtained by Fox Information Electronic.

The White Home defended the DHS board, indicating this week that it would function in a “nonpartisan,” “apolitical” way.
