Ms Strack-Zimmermann included that it was essential to deliver a lot more weapons to Ukraine to drive Moscow in the direction of negotiations that will conclude the conflict.

Hofreiter and Strack-Zimmermann travelled to Ukraine previously in the week together with Michael Roth of the SPD.
Last weekend the Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin Andrij Melnyk asked Germany to support his region militarily by offering Leopard battle tanks, Marder infantry combating autos, Cobra weapons location radars and the armoured howitzer Panzerhaubitze 2000.

He instructed the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung that the weapons were crucial to struggle Russian forces in the east and the south of the state.
